What we have been up to!

Hi Syd

The grade 1/2's have been working hard and exploring some very interesting apps here at school.  I wanted to share a video with you about what we think would happen if kids ruled the world!!!

What do you think?

Hi Friends!

Have you had a chance to use the compass yet? I have been using a lot of maps and a lot of compasses to help me explore the country of Kenya.

Do you remember what I use a compass for? What directions does it have?  Watch the video I sent Mrs. Nichol to help you understand more about using a map and some of the ways I have been using it!

Here is a cool website I found where you can turn yourself into a wild animal! In Kenya there are tons of wild animals, maybe you can all try it together using only animals from Kenya

http://buildyourwildself.com/

Can you share the pictures and descriptions of the animal when you are done?

I can't wait to see, have fun exploring and learning more about maps and Kenya today!

I have been busy!

Hello Friends,

Sorry I have not wrote to you lately, I have been busy traveling across Africa, I have traveled south from Kenya to Zimbabwe. See if you can locate it on the globe... do  you remember what direction south is? Use the compass to help you figure it out. Today you should practice using the compass it is a LOT of fun!

Check out the link to see how far my travel was. http://www.distancefromto.net/distance-from/Kenya/to/Zimbabwe

Feeling lucky?

Hi everyone, there is a special holiday coming up next week, does anyone know what it is?  Here is a hint it happens during your March Break!?

This is one of my favourite holidays! Today you are going to learn about how it is celebrated and the history of the holiday.

One of my favourite parts of St. Patrick's Day is the legend of the Leprechaun. Do you think you could design a trap to catch a Leprechaun?

Have fun exploring the holiday and make  sure you share with me what you learned!

:) Lots of Luck

African Safari

Hello my friends!

Today I went on my first African Safari. It was the most amazing thing I have ever saw! I have to wait for my pictures to load, but in the mean time can you imagine what it would look like? What animals do you think I saw? I sent a package to you at school that has some instructions on how to draw African Animals. Can you use them to draw a picture of what you think I all saw on my safari?

Talk to you soon!
