What have you learned so far?

Hi Grade 1/2's, I saw on the news that is it snowing there!!!! Can you send me a picture we don't have any snow here!

I have sent a lot of information to you about Chinese New years and the country itself, but I have not heard back much from you this month! Can you show me what you know already about Chinese New year so I know what else I need to teach you! I sent one more video to watch today about the holiday.

After that, with a partner I want you to make something to show me what you have learned so far about Chinese New Year. Maybe... each group could do something different.

1. Food
2. Parade
3.Lanterns
4. Preparation
5. Games
6. Animals
7. Dragon Dance

Have you tried the dragon dance yet? Pull out your dragons today and take a video of how they move and what you can do with them!!

Maybe if you have time you could make more decorations for the party, like lanterns! Chinese paper lantern with streamers

I can't wait!

Enjoy the snow

All About China

Hello Everyone, or as they say in China

I have been here for 2 weeks so far and I have learned so much about China. It is a really interesting country and they have the COOLEST animals! I thought Australia was pretty awesome with Kangaroos and Kola Bears, but they have just as interesting animals in China. I am sharing a link for you to learn more about the Country China!!

THE PANDA

Can you think of a symbol or sound that represents each of these animals from the website?
I sent an e-mail with some pictures of them, your teacher has a game for you to play with them!!!!!

That's all for now!

Games from China

Hi everyone!!!
I love the web you made about Chinese New Years!
I can't wait to see how your dragons look!
Here is a song you can listen to later when your done and make your dragons do a dance!

What instruments do you here?

Today when you are done your dragon I want you to practice writing in Chinese!
Today you are going to work on your numbers. Once you have traced them with pencil you can use water paints to draw some on red paper to decorate for the new year!

I learned a game today that you play by linking arms with a partner. Mrs. Nichol is going to explain this Chinese game to you!
